Thanksgiving 2016

The pearly gates!

Made it up to the cabin for Thanks giving again.  Seems like that's the only time I ever have to post anything.  Not quite as much snow as last year... but enough to warrant chains.  Not really any other place I'd rather be- love it up there.

This was the view we woke up to Thursday morning.

"Dad, look, there's more!"

Pretty cool.

After watching elk all morning, we headed out on skis to do some rabbit hunting.

Seamus looks for rabbits.  He actually found one too.  It stood still enough for both Tally and Seamus to take a shot at it.  They both missed.  It was awesome to watch though!

Both Mandy's folks and my folks chained up to make it up to cabin for dinner.  Ray brought his turkey fryer... and we managed to fry a turkey.  Good stuff!

After dinner we had enough time for a pumpkin shoot.

Nothing wraps up Thanksgiving better than a good old fashioned pumpkin shoot.

After pie... grandpa settled down for a game of Chess with Seamus.

The next day we all participated in the local running club's "Run til' you pie".  Basically it was do as many laps as you could up and down the canyon/ Fairfield trail to our cabin.  I ended up with five... could have done a few more, but everyone was done by then.

Tally did nearly as many as any of the women... three laps... 6 miles, near 3000K vert.  Awesome!  She won a pie for her enthusiasm... "The most stoke" award.

Always hate to go... hung a wreath on the way out though.  Christmas is next!
