Thanksgiving 2015

Going on a rabbit hunting the morning of Thanksgiving.

We got a good storm Wednesday before Thanksgiving.  With more snow and weather in the forecast we decided to stay close to home.  We loaded up the Ford, some skis and a turkey and headed up to the cabin.

It's not often that conditions are prime for a Thanksgiving morning ski.

We were loaded for rabbit too- just in case.

"Cheese!... Gobble, gobble!"

Tally loves the skis!

After some skiing, we sat down to Thanksgiving feast in the sky!

The "Hanging of the Horns" ceremony was full-on this year!

"Mmmm... yummy... cheese cake!"

Tally "pumpkin face" Hamilton.

After pie, we decorated and lit up our one lone pine tree for the holidays.

Didn't ever get much above zero the whole time we were up there.

Nice and cozy inside though!

Mom settles down for some hibernation.

Purch enjoys the fire.

Coyotes howl as the tree shines bright, under a full moon.

The next morning Tally and I headed out for some more rabbit hunting and skiing.

Winter wonderland conditions.

Tally up above our place, getting ready to shred a big hill.

Almost home!

 Heaven on earth!

Had to chain up the Ford all around to get out.

We spotted hundreds of elk on our way back down.  The biggest heard- near two hundred, were way down below in the fields/ ranches just outside of Lander.

Easter at the Cabin

We spent Easter up at the cabin this year...

Coloring eggs.

Traded in our cat that peed on everything... we're trying this little guy out now.  So far so good.

He earned his name already... "Purch"

Saturday was a good day for this.

We practiced throwing the tomahawks the kids got for their birthday finally.  Took Seamus two days... but he finally got a stick.

And another!

Tally practiced and practiced.

And... she finally got a stick... just barely, but it was hanging in there!

The next morning the Easter egg hunt was on.

Charge!

Tally finds one.

The Easter bunny left some eggs in the "llama cage" or their fort.

Pretty cool place to hunt eggs.

And they're off..

Lotta work huntin' eggs at our place!

And after any good egg hunt... it's only proper to have an egg masacre.

Seamus doesn't like eggs much.
